This is the reason why, for the last 8 years or so, I’ve had a suction-style phone holder in Deux Smurf, but because it recently fell to pieces on me, I needed to find a new one.

And let’s be honest, who wants to faff around with those flimsy clips that never quite fit properly?

And, if you live in an area that experiences extreme temperatures, the suction might falter. In the searing summer heat or biting winter cold, the adhesive properties can be a tad temperamental. But in my experience, after a quick wipe they’re good to go.
On the plus side, this holder doesn’t interfere with your view as much as some vent-mounted holders do. You won’t have to crane your neck to see the road while also trying to decipher the tiny GPS arrows. It’s all there, right in your line of sight, but not obstructively so, of course.
In my opinion, the GadJet Suction Phone Holder wins hands down in terms of convenience and flexibility. No more wrestling with air vent fins or dealing with a drooping phone every time you hit a bump. However, it’s not entirely faultless, the colour - it’s a bit garish!
