The Award Winning Isuzu D-Max Receives An Update

Isuzu UK has announced the launch of their updated range of hardworking and comfortable D-Max pick-ups. The updated D-Max range is being officially launched on 1st October 2018 and will be packed with the latest technology that will see it grow from strength to strength.

Now standard on all 4x4 models, Trailer Sway Control uses sensors to detect trailer swing and reduce vehicle speed if sway is identified. Speed is controlled by reducing engine torque and braking automatically (without driver operation). Vehicle brake lights will illuminate when automatic braking occurs.

Double cab suspension changes from a 5 piece to a 3-piece leaf spring suspension for improved ride comfort and reduced noise levels, whilst retaining all the benefits of the current suspension. Strength, durability and towing ability remain the same because the springs are made from a higher strength material. Rust prevention has also been improved as the stronger steel has increased hydrogen resistance and a slower corrosion rate.

Kerb weight on double cab models has been reduced by 10kgs resulting in a payload increase of 10kgs, or a stone and a half in old money.

In addition to the increased safety and comfort features, the Isuzu D-Max includes three new exterior colours – Spinel Red, Sapphire Blue and Galena Grey. The range topping Blade will now be available in four colours, with the addition of Obsidian Grey and Spinel Red now offered in the colour line-up.

The D-Max has always been know as a hard working pick-up, and the updated version will benefit from a refined and enhanced interior, with updated soft pad designs to the arm rests, binnacle and utility box lid. Gloss black trim has been added to the window switches, air vents and glove box, which also incorporates a new D-Max badge. The use of new materials increases the quality, look and feel of all premium models and ensures greater comfort on all journeys and terrains.

There’s no change to the engine as it’s still powered by the 1.9ltr turbo diesel that delivers 164PS and 360Nm of torque. A selling point for the reduced engine capacity is that It requires no AdBlue to meet Euro 6 emissions regulations and offers fuel economy that exceeds 40mpg (combined).

The D-Max also retains its 3.5 tonne towing and 125,000 mile / 5-year warranty (whichever comes first) and 5-year roadside assistance in the UK and across Europe. This however still falls short of SsangYong’s 150,000 / 7 year warranty, but then so does everyone else!

Pricing for the newly updated Isuzu D-Max range starts at only £16,799 CVOTR (Exc. VAT) for the Isuzu D-Max 4x2 Single Cab to £29,799 CVOTR for the top of the range Blade (automatic).

Isuzu say that following an already successful year for the award-winning Isuzu D-Max, the updated range offers the capability and practicality of the D-Max whilst looking and feeling more sophisticated throughout the pick-up. The award-winning D-Max has already had a successful 2018, being crowned ‘Pick-Up of The Year’ at the 2018 WhatVan? Awards, ‘Most Reliable Pick-Up’ for 2018 by Professional Pick-Up & 4X4 magazine, ‘Best Workhorse Pick-Up’ for 2018 by Trade Van Driver and ‘Best Pick-Up 2018’ by Scottish Field.
