Picture this…
The weather is good, and you’ve decided to remove your soft top for some open air driving fun, but you still want a bit of shade for your eyes from that strong sun, so you grab a baseball cap. This seems like a good idea until that strong gust of wind gets under the brim and….whoosh…your hat is gone never to be seen again.
You are heading down the river for a leisurely jaunt in your canoe, and you lean over a bit too far, and next thing you see is your hat floating away faster than you can paddle.
You are hiking up Ben Nevis when the pesky wind gets up and your hat comes off. It’s blown back down the side of the mountain your have just bust your guts to get up. Bye bye hat!
What you need in these situations is a rather simple, but very effective, double-ended cap retainer.
How it works is you clip one end to the back of your hat or cap, and the other end to a piece of your clothing like a shirt, your wetsuit or a backpack. The clips have a really strong grip, and combined with a strong adjustable 9” cord, your hat won’t be going anywhere.
I have personally tested this handy little gadget whilst out in our Doon Buggy, and it did exactly what it the name says, it kept my hat from flying off, so it definitely gets my Muddy Madam’s Seal of Approval.
This is a really uncomplicated solution, that doesn’t affect how you wear your hat in any way, so for less than a tenner get yourself a bit of peace of mind, and keep a grip on your favourite hat.
